Kane and Lynch: Dead Men
Posted by Asif under Review
You would figure that in a game where one of two ways to interact with the environment is shooting guys, IO Interactive would make that flawless, but there were times when I’d clearly be firing right at an enemy and it wouldn’t register as a hit. It was so needlessly frustrating I don’t even have a sarcastic comment about it.
During a pivotal cut-scene—pivotal if I had given a crap at that point—two characters were talking and suddenly something unexpected happened. It was the biggest surprise for me in Kane and Lynch, other then when it froze my 360 several times and left me to replay large sections of the game. Anyway, right in middle of this conversation I failed the mission. Yes. During the cut-scene I failed the mission. Mission? Failed. This is pretty much where the game broke me, like it was Ivan Drago.
My second opinion is that this game sucks. That’s also my third and fourth opinion, if you’re wondering.
Apparently, one of my completely useless squad-mates died, which caused me to fail the mission during the cut-scene, after there was no indication beforehand that he was in trouble. How does this happen? I’m not sure, but it probably has a lot to do with IO Interactive not caring about you very much. If they couldn’t bother to check if the game wouldn’t keep getting in the way of itself and what little fun there is inside of its completely joyless story then they must not really care.
I’ve read there is some sort of multi-player mode in the game [Source: In game menu.], but I’m not sure I want to hang around online with a bunch of people who like this game and it’s broken mechanics. I’m a lot like Ayn Rand that way; I hate retards.
If you’ve gotten this far and are expecting a meaningless number to confirm your suspicion of how I feel about Kane and Lynch, you won’t get any satisfaction, much like if you had actually played Kane and Lynch yourself. Don’t buy this game.

That was a good review of, apparently, a terrible game. Keep up the good work. Although I do enjoy your vituperative vendettas against the world, the game reviews are excellent reads.
